A Fireplace Built for a Man

I was going through a bunch of pictures I have and ran across some pictures of a fireplace that any red-blooded guy would like in his living room. Hate chopping wood for the fire? No problem, you can burn logs the size of a Toyota in here! For a size reference I've included daddy's little tax-deductions. If I stuck my head up into the flue I could stand upright in there at 6'3.

Can anybody* identify this fireplace or name where it is? I'll give you a hint - there is public parking right outside this building, although your car or truck is not welcome within a mile of the place.

* My brother should know where this is, so he's not allowed to chime in.

Walk up a flight of stairs and you get a good view of the building. A lot of stones went into building this place!

My wife looked at this and said there is no way anybody is going to ever figure this out.

The fireplace is in Wisconsin. Anybody from Illinois should be able to identify it now (since they all go to the part of the state where it's located).

I've never seen it before but I'm going to guess some place in the Dells? I think the kitchen will look great like that.

The Dells would be a great guess if it were right. It's in the other tourist hot-spot in the state, Door County. The big question is where in Door County.

Since I'm going to forget to post the answer if I don't do it now, it's on Rock Island, off the tip of the "thumb" of Wisconsin. About one mile from the nearest public roads, so therefore you can't park within a mile of it. The parking outside the building is for boats, on the public dock.

My mother in law used to live in D.C.!! In Sister Bay. We never made to rock island, I know she has and my dh when he was younger did though. I'll have to make sure we check it out next time we go up.

My dad lives in Sturgeon Bay, and I've been to Sister Bay more times than I can count. We always make the trip to Al Johnson's for the best pancakes. To get to Rock Island you need to take the ferry to Washington Island and then another ferry over to Rock Island. It's supposedly great camping in the area.
